Women's Volleyball Splits at Albert Magnus Tri-Match

NEW HAVEN, C.T. - October 27, 2018 - The Pratt Institute women's volleyball team split its matches on Saturday afternoon in a tri-match at Albertus Magnus.

Pratt bested Becker in straight-sets, with scores of 25-21, 25-16, 25-19.

The hosts defeated Pratt in three sets, with scores of 25-23, 25-22, 26-24.

The Cannoneers are now 13-14 on the season.

In the first match against Albertus Magnus, three Cannoneers finished with double-doubles: Shannon Corr with 16 kills and 12 digs, Badesim Julia Kubak with 24 assists and 11 digs, and Emelen MIkelic with 10 kills and 12 digs. Ivana Santascoy had a game-high 20 digs, while Cori Glidden had three blocks.

In their second match of the day against Becker, Corr continued her strong play as she finished with 17 kills and 16 digs, and Madeline Markley contributed 13 kills at a .385 clip. Mikelic had 12 kills, and nine digs, and Kubak paced the offense with a season-high 41 assists. For the match, the Cannoneers hit .232, while their defense held Becker to .085.

Up Next: Pratt will host Yeshiva University at the ARC in their final game of the 2018 season on Tuesday, October 30th. First serve is scheduled for 7:30 PM. The first 50 fans receive a free t-shirt with a Pratt Athletics Halloween theme. Free food will be given to any fans in a Halloween costume or in Pratt gear.
