Women's Soccer Defeats Yeshiva on Senior Day, 3-0

NEW YORK, N.Y. - October 28, 2018 - The Pratt Institute women's soccer team registered three goals and defeated Yeshiva University, 3-0, on Randall's Island on Sunday evening. With the win, the Cannoneers finished their 2018 campaign on a three-game winning streak, and a final record of 3-7-1. 

Before the game, seniors Carlyle MacDonald, Katie Medina, Courtney Dreher, Morgan Holub, and Brittany Lovegrove, were recognized for their dedication and commitment to the women's soccer program.

Finding the back of the net was freshman midfielder Lily Gaunt for her third goal this season, and MacDonald who scored her third and fourth goals of her final season.  In net, goalkeeper Dreher notched her second win of the year.

The Cannoneers held a 24-0 shot advantage over 90 minutes of play, including a 14-0 margin in the first half of play. Additionally, the Cannoneers were awarded 11 corner kicks while allowing none for the Maccabees.

Pratt found an opportunity to take an early 1-0 lead in the 18th minute when MacDoanld blasted a kick from 20-yards out past the Yeshiva goalie.

In the second half, Gaunt found the back of the net in the 60th minute to give Pratt a 2-0 cushion. Then in the 78th minute, Lovegrove and Caitlyn Fortune worked together to get the ball into the box, where MacDonald was able to gather the feed and drilled a shot into the back of the net to ice the 3-0 win for Pratt.
