Pratt's distance runners showcase their skills at the Armory

NEW YORK, NY – A Cannoneers 1-2-3 finish in the women's 5,000 meters served as the main attraction in Pratt's participation at the Armory College Last Chance on Friday afternoon.

Freshman Peg Smith continued her impressive indoor campaign, winning the distance event in a time of 20:02. Keeping pace was fellow freshman Lolo Walker, who took second place after crossing the finish line in a time of 21:45. Eliza Ross's 24:11 pace, good for third place overall, gave Pratt a clean sweep in the event. 

Ross would also add a third place finish in the 3,000 meters, completing the 15 lap race in 14:09.

The Cannoneers domination continued in the mile as Emily Kraus took fifth place after posting a time of 7:00 – making Pratt the only competing school to have a top-5 finisher in each distance race.

In the throws, freshman Remi Urreta took sixth place in the shot put after heaving a throw of 9.57 meters in her final attempt. Urreta would collect a sixth place finish in the weight throw – registering 9.11 meters. Cory Marks placed eight in the shot put, posting a personal-best 8.02 meter on her first attempt.

The Pratt men's side was highlighted by distance specialist Dylan Cabral's 10:38 performance in the 3,000 meters, good for a seventh place finish.

UP NEXT: The Cannoneers continue their indoor season at the Mile Mania Grand Prix #5 on Thursday, March 8. The meet will take place at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
